Fundraising Ideas for ‘remote fundraisers’
The idea is to translate a fundraising activity to fit your interests or community involvements. This really can happen in a myriad of ways and the below list is by no means comprehensive, only to stimulate your translation that will suit you and your networks. You organising within your networks, a fundraising activity on behalf of Te Moata Charitable Trust, becomes a ‘remote fundraiser’.
Please note:
Remote fundraising should be supported with acknowledgement from Te Moata and where possible, supporting material for distribution i.e. Te Moata information pamphlets as give-ways. This not only provides the remote fundraiser with integrity from Te Moata, but maximises the opportunity of broadening knowledge of Te Moata’s existence and service.
•Garage Sale. Have one of your own or join in with some neighbours or friends who want to help you raise funds for Save Te Moata appeal.
•Car boot sale. Get rid of the clutter you don’t want and give the proceeds to Save Te Moata appeal.
•Arrange a meditation day/hour in your local area, or a series of layered hours from beginners to experienced, with proceeds going to Save Te Moata appeal. This could be held in a church or school hall, a large lounge. What large room do you know of that would be suitable?
•If the weather could be predicted, perhaps in a local park. N.B. Permits will be required to meet in a public place as a large crowd. Check with the local council.
•Provide an afternoon tea/dinner and ask guests to donate a fixed sum or a donation to Save Te Moata appeal. Use this idea for a large gathering too. Maybe your sports or interest groups too i.e. Toastmasters, Probus, Rotary, Lions, RSA etc.
•If you’re a sports club member, why not arrange a ‘meet’ or competition with entry fees donated to Save Te Moata appeal. i.e. kayaking, sailing, rugby/soccer/netball game. Alternatively, sell the drinks and snacks to those watching!
•Organise a raffle. It could be as simple as home-made products and within your own networks, or maybe outside a pre-arranged site like your supermarket, or the counter of a local shop. N.B. Raffles with prizes worth over $500 MUST seek a permit from Internal Affairs. SO…..we suggest you keep the raffle within these limits with very clear money tracking to stay within the correct legal boundaries. However, if there is someone who could offer a raffle with large prizes beyond the $500 limit, (cars, boats, holiday packages, property etc) then please phone Te Moata and ask to speak to someone from the Fundraising office. We would love to hear from you.
•Are you yourself, or do you have family/friend who is an artist and could organise an auction with proceeds, or percentage, donated to Save Te Moata appeal?
•Are you a producer of a product, or have family/friend that you could organise and offer a discount with proceeds (or percentage) donated to Save Te Moata appeal? This could be for a particular period (day, week, month) i.e. food, footwear, clothing, cleaning products, skin care, etc and the list goes on!
