Teacher, Owner, Director ~ S p a c e Studio, Wellington
‘I was born & raised in the Coromandel and lived in Kennedy Bay, Thames & Tairua. My father’s roots are Ngati Porou, Nga puhi & Tainui and I come home many times a year to Te Moata, as a student & a teacher.
For 30 years I have been immersed in teaching, coaching & mentoring. The underlying purpose has always been to support students to meet opportunities & challenges with greater ease, openness, compassion & wisdom: This speaks to the heart of meditation & well-being practices.
I have a formal teaching degree and a wide range of accreditations in meditation, well-being & yogic traditions. I teach & practise mindful yoga & meditation in beautiful S p a c e Studio. I also find joy guiding retreats, teacher trainings & workshops. I have been deeply inspired by many remarkable teachers & I’ve studied & retreated across the world with them: Dr Rick Hanson, Bhikkhu Analayo, Dr Deepak Chopra, Sayadaw U Tejaniya, Joseph Goldstein, Martine Batchelor.’

‘Meditation, yoga & sangha are integral to my well-being. I began meditating when I was a teenager and this encompassed mantra meditation. Over the decades I have included other mindful meditation practices & I have a particular fondness for walking meditation at Te Moata; Being surrounded by the nature here, is a sacred way to connect to our precious earth.
Silent Retreats have always been a tonic for me: they are like taking a strengthened dose of peacefulness & wonder. This silent retreat infusion has an afterglow too, that appears to continue & ripple out into my life in Wellington. Whether I’m a student or teacher, a retreat offers a depth that extends beyond normal awareness into heightened presence, wisdom & compassion. As a student I have spent invaluable time on retreats with many wise teachers: I’m especially grateful to Ty & Sarah Powers, Dr Rick Hanson, Martine Batchelor, Christina Feldman, Joseph Goldstein.’
‘Lovingkindness is what inspires me to learn & grow.’
