Join Trish Allen at the beautiful Te Moata Retreat Centre in Coromandel for this 5-day course which will be a mix of theory and practical and on the last day will conclude with a field trip to established permaculture sites, including the inspiring Yotam and Niva Kay’s Pakaraka Farm.

The course will touch on permaculture ethics and principles, sectors, zones and contours, design process, climate and micro-climate, soils, composting, worm farming, home gardens, seed saving, propagating, pruning & grafting, urban and social permaculture, relocalisation, animals in permaculture and much more.  In the evenings we’ll have movie time, watching inspiring examples of permaculture in NZ and overseas. This course will give participants an understanding of the basics of permaculture, which can be followed up with a full Permaculture Design Course should that be of interest.

Participants are invited to arrive at Te Moata in late afternoon of Tuesday 2 April 2024 to settle in and enjoy simple meal of soup and bread in the evening followed by a session getting to know each other.  We’ll then have 4 days of course time at Te Moata and on day 5 we’ll be off on our field trip on the way home.
