Our team of managers, buildings and land need immediate financial support to continue serving as a sanctuary for all who seek solace here. Although maintenance and repairs have been ongoing, a comprehensive assessment report of our main buildings has been sobering. Unless we raise significant funds our buildings are going to crumble down around us. This sounds dramatic, however, the reality is that it is happening slowly and quietly with water damage. We also need to pay our management team a fair wage and steward the land with pest control and removal of invasive species. We have tested different options, but the scale of funds needed to move Te Moata to a sustainable state is beyond what we raise from our already busy schedule of events and current donations.

We are now calling on the generosity and aroha that underpins Te Moata to raise $$$ to get us through. In 2009 we raised huge funds together to ‘Save Te Moata’. We now need to raise funds together to ‘Sustain Te Moata’.

How You Can Help Sustain Te Moata

One-Off or Annual Donations: As we are an approved charity, you can claim 33.33 cents for each dollar you donate as a tax credit. Donate directly to our Te Moata bank account –12-3044-0422743-000  with ‘Sustain TM’ in the reference fields and your name.

Please email sustaintemoata@temoata.org to let us know you have donated. We like to acknowledge donations in our newsletters and give credit where credit is due, however some prefer to be anonymous so let us know if you prefer anonymity.

    • Automatic Payments: Set up an automatic payment to ensure ongoing repairs and maintenance. A recurring donation, no matter how small the amount, ensures a steady stream of support that sustains our initiatives. If you already have an a/p set up, thank you so much. (If so, might you increase it in response to this need?)

    • Share Fundraising Ideas: If you have great fundraising ideas, take ownership of them and we’ll help publicise them in our future newsletters.

    • Leave a Lasting Legacy: Consider including Te Moata in your will and leave a bequest to safeguard the sanctuary’s future for generations.

    • Share your Time and Experience: Come to Te Moata and be a part of work teams for infrastructure, conservation, and ongoing care needs. It will take all our creativity and individual skills to sustain Te Moata into the future.
