‘Radiant Being’
Spring Silent Meditation Retreat
Labour Weekend: 24-29th October, 2024
Te Moata Retreat Centre – Tairua, Coromandel with Sarah Morley, Oliver Ferry & Lana Bright

Take this time for you. Leave the familiar for a while. Let this be an opportunity to tune in & open up to calmness, vitality & inspiration. These already flow deep within, but they are often unseen, unheard and unfelt by a heavy mind & restless heart. Sarah, Lana & Oliver are delighted to be your teachers.

Come and practice, rest & rejuvenate. Be guided in meditation, yoga, pranayama and mantra and learn simple practices to engage with ease and openness. Find and follow your own rhythm & bliss. Explore traditional and current practices, woven together with lovingkindness. Strengthen positive states in the mind and body and encourage deeper reservoirs of lightness as a natural way of being. These practices soften and settle us and return us to greater vitality. Enter silence and tune into your innate peacefulness, wisdom & lightness of being. And let the languid breaks each afternoon be your special time to move, to be still, to play at the ocean (6 kms away). Te Moata is nestled in 344 hectares of natural beauty and lit by solar power. It is lush with sacred sites, streams & trails to commune with.

Regardless of your previous experiences, this retreat will offer many opportunities to be present, feel rested & rejuvenated, within the sanctuary of Te Moata.

Bios for your Teachers

Lana Bright
Teacher, Owner, Director at Space Studio

‘For 30 years I have been immersed in teaching, coaching & mentoring. The underlying purpose has always been to invite others to meet life’s opportunities & challenges with greater ease, openness & wisdom: This speaks to the heart of meditation & well-being.
I have a formal teaching degree and a wide range of accreditations in meditation, well-being & yogic traditions. I teach & practise mindful yoga & meditation in S p a c e Studio and this is my bliss. I also love to guide retreats, trainings & offer workshops in New Zealand & Australia. I’ve been deeply inspired by many remarkable teachers and I’ve studied & retreated extensively across the world with them: Dr Rick Hanson, Bhikkhu Analayo, Dr Deepak Chopra, Sayadaw U Tejaniya, Sarah Powers.’

‘How can we be here fully & more lightly?’

Sarah Morley
Teacher & Manager Space Studio

‘I was born in Canada and that’s where I began my journey into yoga & meditation. Since 2013 I have been a full time yoga teacher. What I love is to infuse a balance of meditation & asana, philosophy & inquiry into each offering I curate. Continuing to expand my knowledge & deepen my practices is essential and I’m currently absorbed in a year long meditation programme with Christina Feldman & Dr Christoph Kock.

Daily meditation and hiking are forms of celebrating life for me. When I am not teaching & practising, you can find me walking trails, reading non-fiction, enjoying matcha or eating everything that Queen Sally’s Diamond Deli offers in Lyall Bay, Wellington.’

‘I’m curious about what brings you alive. What’s too important to ignore?’

Oliver Ferry

Teacher & Owner at Space Studio

‘Meditation & yoga are integral to my well-being. I began meditating when I was a teenager and this involved mantra meditation. Over the decades I have included other mindfulness meditation practices & I’ve a particular fondness for walking meditation; In nature it is a precious way to connect to our earth.

Retreats have always been a tonic for me: they are like taking a strengthened dose of support and infusing that more deeply into my life. A retreat offers us depth, that extends beyond normal awareness into heightened presence, wisdom & compassion. I have spent invaluable time on silent retreats with many wise teachers: I’m especially grateful to Ty & Sarah Powers & Dr Rick Hanson. Like Sarah Morley, I’m currently absorbed in a year long meditation programme with Christina Feldman.’

‘Lovingkindness is what inspires me to learn & grow.’
